06/09/2024

ROG.e 2024, one of the world’s leading energy events, will be joined by three of the sector’s most important leaders: Marcelo Araújo (corporate executive director and holdings at Ultrapar S/A), Eduardo Ricotta (president of Vestas for Latin America) and Leonardo Linden (CEO of Ipiranga). The first two will participate in the Strategic Talks, aimed at C-Levels to discuss business, trends, macroeconomics and ESG. Linden, meanwhile, will be present at the Special Session, a space for executives to discuss topics related to the conference’s axes, such as low-carbon solutions; fundability of the energy transition; and digital transformation and innovation, among others.

This whole program is part of the event, held from September 23 to 26 at the Olympic Boulevard in downtown Rio de Janeiro, organized by the Brazilian Oil and Gas Institute (IBP).

Ricotta will comment on the growth prospects for renewable energies in the world on September 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the session Connecting Energies: Potentialities and opportunities in renewable energies in the world. The executive is responsible for Vestas’ presence and operations in 21 countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, amounting to 16 GW of installed wind capacity, as well as expanding operations in new promising markets throughout the region. With national and international experience, Ricotta has almost 30 years of professional career and holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from Inatel; graduate degrees in Marketing from ESPM and Business Management from FGV; and an MBA from IBMEC. He also specialized in Business at Columbia University.

Marcelo Araujo will be present at the ROG.e Dialogues session with the topic “Downstream Challenges in Decarbonizing the Chain”. The debate, which will be held on September 23 at 5:40 pm, will promote an exchange of ideas focusing on the challenges of implementing public policy, in its multiple dimensions, that stimulates investment, reduces the cost of the energy transition for society and promotes job creation. Araújo has a degree from the Military Engineering Institute – IME, an MBA from SDE (now Ibmec), AMP/ISP from Harvard Business School and further training at Manchester Business School and Insead.

Participating in a panel on the topic “Irregular Trade in the Fuel Segment” on September 26 at 11:20 a.m. Leonardo Linden has extensive experience in the oil and gas segment in Brazil and abroad. He also has a degree in business administration from UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) and specialization courses at the University of North Carolina, Kellogg Business School and Thunderbird Executive Education.

According to the IBP president, Roberto Ardenghy, sustainability debates are in total convergence with the development of new green and renewable technologies. “It is crucial to have a diversified grid at this stage of the energy transition, which can combine oil, gas, solar, wind, hydrogen and biomethane, among other sources. In this way, we will be able to have energy security and efficiency in the coming decades. We will also be presenting low-carbon technologies, innovations and solutions to promote our activities, which are always in line with the best ESG practices,” he says.
